On Saturday, Amy Ventura will discuss wood choice, safety issues, tools and the process of making marks on wood with heat, including how to read the characteristics of each piece of wood to create intricate textures, shading and lines.

Description:
This course engages color in an immediate way with this overview of the screenprinting  process. Photo processes will be covered, as well as all you need to know about ink preparation, registration and pulling awesome prints. Appropriate for all levels of experience, from beginner to advanced.

Traditional Etching

Description:
This hugely popular course in traditional intaglio printmaking is back! Etching techniques of line, aquatint and softground using zinc or copper plates will be covered. Appropriate for all levels of experience, from beginner to advanced.

Sundays, April 14 - May 5, 2013
4 weeks, 12 - 3pm
$175 ($25 deposit required to hold a place in the class)

Description:
Students are invited to join in a fun, relaxing and supportive atmosphere to strengthen their drawing skills, imagination and practice. In the first part of the course, students will create drawings and illustrations through a series of playful text and image exercises. In the second part, students will learn the basics of linoleum block carving and printing, and produce an edition of their own greeting cards or small prints by hand. Great for students looking for guided exploration into illustration, art and printmaking!
