Buffalo Bayou Trail Updates
Buffalo Bayou Partnership (BBP) has begun construction on a unique hike and bike trail in downtown Houston. The vital segment from Fannin to McKee streets will connect the heavily used Buffalo Bayou Park trails with east downtown and beyond. Construction is scheduled to be completed in Fall 2021. Read all of the details about the new trail here.
BBP has also completed a trail segment at Houston Housing Authority’s Clayton Homes development east of downtown. The key segment features an historic counter-weight railroad bridge (bottom right) that has been repurposed to link the north and south banks of the bayou.
As Buffalo Bayou trails become more populated with both bike riders and pedestrians, please remember to share the trail and alert others when passing. Use #RideandRing on social media to remind trail users to be safe. See all trail safety rules here.
