It's Our Shot, Virginia: Statewide Day of Action
|
|
On Tuesday, May 18, 2021, Virginia residents are coming together for the "It's Our Shot, Virginia: Statewide Day of Action." We know that Virginia's health is in our hands. That is why we are all coming together to encourage our friends, family members, and neighbors to get vaccinated. You can be a part of the statewide day of action. It is simple.
-
Interfaith Informational Briefing: Join us on Tuesday, May 18 at 8:00 a.m. for an informational briefing. Learn more about our efforts to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and how we are working to combat vaccine hesitancy in Virginia's most vulnerable and vaccine hesitant communities. Zoom participation details will be provided next week in a follow up email.
-
Call to Prayer and Action: Consider bringing together your congregations on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 for 18 minutes of prayer and call to action--encouraging your parishioners to call upon others in their homes, communities, and places of employment to get vaccinated.
-
Social Media: On or leading up to the statewide day of action, consider recording a 30-60 second video sharing your vaccination story then post it on social media using the hashtag #VaccinateVirginia. You may also consider taking a selfie and posting it using the hashtag #VaccinateVirginia.

Each May, the HHS Office of Minority Health (OMH) recognizes Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month and celebrates the achievements and contributions of AAPIs in the United States. This year, OMH and its partners will focus on supporting communities that have been disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic by continuing to promote vaccine confidence and by addressing the recent rise in violence against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
