Plan unveiled to transition from universal masking at Henrico Schools

Metric For Making Masks Optional Announced At Fairfax Schools

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA - Amid mask opt-out legislation advancing in the Virginia General Assembly, Fairfax County Public Schools has announced metrics for easing the mask mandate. On Thursday, FCPS announced a roll-back plan based on community COVID-19 transmission data and health expert recommendations. Once Fairfax County reaches moderate transmission, FCPS will make masks optional.

Chesterfield County Schools budget proposal includes $60M in teacher raises

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. - Chesterfield County Public Schools Superintendent Merv Daugherty has proposed an $846.8 million dollar budget for the next school year that would include nearly $60 million in salary raises for teachers and other staff. The breakdown proposes $36 million for teachers and other school staff and $23.6 million for food service staff, bus drivers, custodians, security and clerical support.

Virginia Education Broadband Grant

Valued up to $30,000- Applications must be received by February 18, 2022

In honor of VSBA’s 115th Anniversary, a thank you for your work as school board members, and in service to Virginia’s children: Kajeet partnered with VSBA to announce the first-ever Virginia Education Broadband Grant program. This funding opportunity will help school board members continue the important work being done to ensure all students have digital learning access at school and at home.


In total, Kajeet will award over $250,000 in broadband services to Virginia school

boards to solve the digital divide and ensure that all students have access to learn, anytime, anywhere.


Kajeet will award 9 winners (one per VSBA region). Award winners will be announced at VSBA Regional meetings this Spring. To learn more information and to submit your application visit the link below.
