NPS: More than 2,000 students in Norfolk already vaccinated against COVID-19

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - More than 2,000 students are already partially vaccinated against COVID-19, according to Norfolk Public Schools. In a post on social media Monday, NPS officials say more than 2,000 students, between the age of 5 and 11, across 32 schools, have been given their first dose of the vaccine.

School Board Reopens Meeting Room for Public Sessions - Loudoun Now

Tomorrow-for the first time since June 22-the Loudoun County School Board will reopen its meeting room to spectators during the public comment portion of its meeting. The School Board meeting will begin at 4 p.m. with a work session on elementary school attendance zone boundaries.

School project will give students board games at Christmas

MEADOWVIEW, Va. -- More than 500 students at a Washington County, Virginia, elementary school will have board games to put under their Christmas trees this holiday. The gift-giving idea started when the school's second grade teachers asked their Facebook friends to donate new board games for their students to take home for Christmas.

Franklin High School hosted the Region A/B Super Regional theatre festival on Saturday, Nov. 20. Teams from Franklin, Galileo Magnet, West Point, and Rappahannock competed for the right to advance to the VHSL State theatre festival on Dec 4 at Monticello High School in Charlottesville.

Richmond public schools releases survey with 2022-23 calendar options

There will be four different school year layouts to choose from. Two of the options offer additional school days and one option offers intersession days.

Fairfax Co. sees largest drop in Va. public school enrollment | WTOP News

For the second straight year, enrollment in Virginia public schools has dropped, with 46,000 fewer students enrolled since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to data from the Virginia Department of Education, the largest school district in the commonwealth, Fairfax County, saw the largest enrollment dip - more than 10,000 students, or a 5.4% difference between fall 2019 and fall 2021.
