Blacksburg High School band plays at Carnegie Hall

The Blacksburg High School band took to one of the most famous musical stages in the world. The band played at Carnegie Hall Tuesday night as part of the New York Invitational Music Festival. Blacksburg's band played two pieces for the judges which they had been practicing since last year.

Waynesboro school board members share their take on women empowerment and leadership

Lynchburg City Schools have a new system in place to keep students safe. They detect vaping tobacco and THC, and can also detect if a student is trying to mask the smell of a vape with cologne.

Local fifth grader's art going on postcards for 40,000 Virginia teachers

Leah Salzburg won $200 for herself and $2,000 for the school's art program through Virginia Lottery's Thank a Teacher Art Contest. Out of 400 elementary schoolers in the Commonwealth, Leah's art will be printed on postcards to send to Virginia teachers for teacher appreciation week.
