The school board looked at three redistricting options Thursday night. This was an informational presentation only. No decision will be made until after a public hearing is held this Thursday, January 19, in the auditorium at Jefferson Forest High School.

Loudoun Electoral Board Picks School Board Seats for Staggered Terms

The transition to staggered terms on the Loudoun County School Board advanced last week with the Electoral Board selecting the seats that will be up for two-year terms in the November 2023 election. Board members elected next year to the Little River, Algonkian, Broad Run, Dulles, Leesburg and Sterling district seats will serve two-year terms before facing election again.

Henry County schools Superintendent Sandy Strayer to retire

Henry County Public Schools' superintendent Dr. Sandy Strayer has announced her upcoming retirement after 31 years as an educator. Strayer will retire at the end of this school year, in July, to focus more time on her family, according to a press release.

SPS block schedules topic of town hall meetings - The Suffolk News-Herald

Suffolk Public Schools begin their 4×4 block schedule for both middle and high school students in fall 2023. Town hall meetings focused on the new schedule are set for Wednesday, Jan. 18 at King's Fork High School and Thursday, Jan. 19 at Nansemond River High School.

School Board OKs grant to buy Chromebooks; discusses field marking robot, substitutes

The Warren County School Board accepted a federal grant that will buy new student laptops, gathered information on purchasing a robot to paint lines on the school division's athletic fields and what it would cost for an in-house process for hiring and retaining substitutes.
