ACPS Goes Green with Electric School Bus Fleet

ALEXANDRIA, VA - On Nov. 16, Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) officially plugged-in its five new electric school buses. In partnership with Dominion Energy, ACPS purchased 5 C2 Jouley electric buses, built by Thomas Built Buses, from Dominion Energy's Electric School Bus Program. Norfolk elementary schools hold vaccination clinics to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the classroom

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Norfolk Public Schools wants to make it easier for students to get a COVID-19 shot in their arm with in-school vaccination clinics during school hours. Fourth-grader Thomas and some of his fellow classmates at Ghent School rolled up their sleeves Tuesday to get their first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

Slight uptick in new COVID-19 cases at Henrico Schools | The Henrico Citizen

More than 3,300 Henrico children ages 5-11 vaccinated The Henrico County Public Schools division reported 55 new cases in its schools and offices last week - a slight uptick from the previous week's 44 reported cases. The largest increase in the number of COVID-19 cases was in elementary schools, where 36 positive cases were reported.

$2 million in grants awarded for electric school buses in Virginia

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ/Appalachian Power Release) - A program administered by Appalachian Power is helping Virginia school systems buy buses powered by electricity. The company has awarded $2.1 million in grants to five school systems across southwest and central Virginia toward the purchase of nine energy-efficient buses, according to the utility.
