School Board to discuss 2024-25 budget cuts

Isle of Wight County's School Board plans to discuss budget cuts on June 13 to stay within its lower-than-requested funding allocation from county supervisors for the coming school year. The supervisors voted May 17 to adopt a $107 million 2024-25 budget that allocates just under $33 million to the school system.

Brace yourselves for an inspiring presentation that will set the tone for an enriching conference experience. Also in attendance will be 2025 Virginia Teacher of the Year, Avanti Yamamoto.


Attendees will also have a chance to visit with a few of VSBA's Business Affiliates during the Affiliate Tradeshow. The presentation of the 2024 Excellence in Workforce Readiness Awards, 2024 Food for Thought Awards, and the 2024 Student Essay Contest Award will be named while lunch concludes.


But there is so much more! Attendees will be able to travel from table to table for different mini workshops showcasing the best practices that have propelled Virginia's school divisions to success.
