Northern Virginia school systems fine-tune online learning, launch virus testing

With the school year well underway, Northern Virginia districts are still fine-tuning the logistics of learning amid the coronavirus pandemic - while redoubling efforts to fight it. Two Isle of Wight County School Board members announced last week that they are stepping down - one immediately, while the other will complete her term but not seek reelection in November. Kat Kibler attends Millbrook High School in Winchester Virginia, senior students are allowed to purchase their parking spots and decorate them how they choose. Kat chose to use her spot to pay tribute to the U.S. troops who died during a bombing attack at Kabul airport back in August.

Lynchburg City Schools adds early dismissal days to give teachers breaks

The Lynchburg City Schools Board voted Tuesday to follow in the steps of other districts giving teachers extra time in their schedules. RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Teachers and school staff in Richmond will have to keep waiting when it comes to their push to have a seat at the table on issues impacting their jobs. New COVID-19 cases in Henrico Schools continue to decline | The Henrico Citizen

For the second consecutive week, Henrico County Public Schools has reported a decline in the weekly number of new school-related COVID-19 cases. There were 73 total cases reported among students and staff last week with 42 in elementary schools, 11 in middle schools, 19 in high schools and one in the facilities annex.
