Arbor Day Event: Happening this Week!

Arbor Day: Join the Village of Windsor Parks Committee and Staff for the planting of trees purchased with grant money received from the Wisconsin Alliant Energy Community Tree Program and One Million Trees Initiative in conjunction with Trees Forever.


Date: Friday, April 28, 2023 at 10 am


Where: Morrisonville Ball Park, 4729 CTH DM, Morrisonville


Who: Community members are invited to hear a proclamation reading on Arbor Day, see a demonstration from the Parks & Conservancy Manager on properly planting a tree and then help with planting the trees. Volunteers will need to fill out a Release Form. There will be copies available on site.

DeForest Area Community & Senior Center Naming Contest

The DeForest Area Community and Senior Center is considering a name change. They are looking for a shorter and more inclusive name. Anyone is welcome to submit their idea(s). You can also stop at the Center to complete a paper submission.

2023 Community Projects

Street Reconstruction:

  • Windsor Road (Charlie Grimm Rd to Interstate Bridge): This is a joint project with the Village of DeForest.
  • Project Overview:
  • Anticipated start is April
  • New pavement w/curb & gutter
  • New bridge over the Yahara River
  • Trail installed
  • 4-way stop installed at Windsor Rd. & Bellflower Dr.
  • No thru traffic during construction

Revere Trails Park: 6424 Forest Park Dr., DeForest, WI 53532

  • Project Overview:
  • Playground equipment was installed in April of 2023.
  • A future phase includes a shelter with restrooms. Exact timeline/year to be determined.

Windsor Crossing Conservancy StoryWalk ®: Located off of North Towne Rd.

  • Project Overview:
  • The StoryWalk ® has been completed and the featured story is Bird Watch by Christie Matheson.
  • Stories will rotate seasonally.


The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.

State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation Projects:

Spring Electronic Recycling

The Village of Windsor Recycling Center, 4160 County Road V, will be collecting electronic waste on Saturday, May 6 and Saturday, May 13 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, May 7 and Sunday, May 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Wednesday, May 10 from 2:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at no charge to Windsor residents. Remember you must have a recycling center permit to use this facility.


Allowable items include:

  • Computers
  • Printers
  • Monitors
  • Computer accessories
  • Televisions
  • DVD players, VCRs and DVRs
  • Fax machines


Note: you are responsible for cleaning your hard drive or removing it.
