Movie in the Park:

When: Original Date 7/28/2023 at 5:30 pm; will be rescheduled to a new date (movie showing at dusk)

Who: All are invited to join the Village of Windsor for a movie showing of Encanto. Admission is free. Free popcorn will be served with the movie (while supplies last). Don't forget to bring blankets, chairs and bug spray! 


Food Carts: Before the movie there will be food trucks ($) starting at 5:30 pm. Serving will be Any Street Grill, Thailand in a Truck and Frios Gourmet Pops.


Windsor's Windy Kite Festival When: Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM


Where: Windsor Sports Commons, 4174 County Highway V, DeForest, WI 53532


Who: All are invited to join us for a day of kite flying with the members of the Wisconsin Kiters Club showing their amazing kites. There will be kite making and other activities for kids, with concessions available to purchase.

Food Carts in the Village of Windsor Parks

The Village of Windsor hosts Food Carts in the Village of Windsor Parks Monday nights June to August from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The event rotates between Cradle Hill Park, 4361 Cradle Hill Dr., DeForest, WI 53532 or Windsor Community Park, 6570 Pederson Crossing Blvd., DeForest, WI 53532. View schedule!

Wisconsin Stormwater Week:

August 5-13, 2023

During the week of August 5-13, the Village of Windsor will be posting on our social media about stormwater, what it is, the problems it can cause, and actions people can take to prevent stormwater pollution to our waters. Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn from the experts and make a difference!

One of the opportunities is a free webinar on Managing Water Where it Falls! Join Chris Schultz (Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District) and Megan Högfeldt (City of Superior) on August 8 from noon to 1 pm to learn how to install a rain garden and rain barrel and how these practices can reduce runoff and protect our waters.

Happening Now! As a lead up to Stormwater week, the City of Madison, Clean lakes Alliance and Dane County, are hosting Summer at the Storm Drains, a Storm Drain Mural Scavenger Hunt. Find storm drain murals across Dane County, take a selfie and enter to win fun prizes. Learn more!

August Curbside Brush Collection:

Week of August 7

Brush should be out by 7 am on Monday, August 7 for Public Works staff to pick up. Please note there is no set day of when your brush collection will be picked up within the week.

2050 Comprehensive Plan Update:

Community Kick-Off Meeting

The Village is currently in the process of updating the Comprehensive Plan to reflect the community’s long-term vision on a variety of interconnected topics including, but not limited to, housing, land use, natural resources and conservation, economic development, transportation and infrastructure. This effort will include many public engagement and input opportunities. The Windsor Comprehensive Plan: 2050 webpage will be a resource for public participation during the planning process.


The first Community Meeting is August 14, 2023 at 5 pm at the Windsor Municipal Building, 4084 Mueller Rd., DeForest, WI 53532. This is the Community Kick-Off meeting, and we invite you to attend to learn more about the update process. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions about the Comprehensive Plan update.
