BBQ & Brews is Back! - June 1st | |

Get ready to kick off summer in Shorewood at our BBQ & Brews event on Saturday, June 1st, at Towne Center Park!
The afternoon will feature music from Al Spears & The Hurricane Project, "Big Dog" Mercer, and Cowboy Co. The Country Music Show. BBQ food trucks and breweries will be available for snacks and tasting size pours. Be sure to bring your blankets or lawn chairs to enjoy a full day of summer fun!

Memorial Day Ceremony of Remembrance - May 27th
The Shorewood Memorial Day Ceremony of Remembrance is on Monday, May 27th at the Veterans Memorial at Shorewood Village Hall.
Please join us at 9:00 am to honor and remember those who have secured our freedom.

Shorewood Police Department is excited to partake in Cop on A Rooftop this year! They will be at two Dunkin' locations in Shorewood (1201 W Jefferson Street and 955 Brook Forest Ave) on May 17th starting at 5 am.

Adult Pickleball Leagues - July/August
Registration is open for the Village's Adult Pickleball Leagues!
There will be a competitive mixed doubles league, a recreational mixed doubles league, and a women's recreational doubles league. Morning and evening league options are available.

2023 Drinking Water Quality Report - Get to Know Your H2O! | |

The sources of drinking water (both tap and bottled water) include rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, reservoirs, springs, and wells.
Here in Shorewood, we get our water from 6 different wells. By 2030, Shorewood will be one of the six communities in the Grand Prairie Water Commission whose water supply will be Lake Michigan water, which supplies over 5 million people in Illinois!

The annual report summarizes the quality of water provided to Shorewood customers based on the results of water tests mandated by the Environmental Protection Agency.

PRESS RELEASE: Seil Road Bridge Reduced to One Lane | |

The Village issued a press release on May 6, 2024, regarding the Seil Road Bridge. An inspection report from the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) concluded that the bridge must be reduced to one lane operating in the middle of the bridge.
As a result of the lane reduction, traffic will only be permitted to travel westbound across the bridge. No eastbound traffic will be permitted on the bridge.

May is National Lyme Disease Awareness Month - 'Fight the Bite' that Sickens 500,000 Each Year | |

With the weather warming up, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) is urging the public to protect themselves from ticks and Lyme disease - an infection that sickens an estimated 500,000 people each year in the United States - at the start of National Lyme Disease Awareness Month.
What are small steps you can take to Fight the Bite and prevent infection?
Walk in the center of trails; Avoid wooded, bushy areas with grass and leaf litter; Wear light-colored clothing to make ticks easier to find; Bathe or shower within two hours after coming indoors.

Week 2 of Building Safety Month - Building Safety Plan | |
|
Week 2 of Building Safety Month 2024 focuses on preparing building safety plans. Fire Safety tips from the International Code Council include:
- Put a smoke alarm on every level of your home, outside each sleeping area, and inside every bedroom.
- Test each smoke alarm regularly. Keep batteries fresh by replacing them annually.
- Portable heaters need their space. Keep anything that can burn at least three feet away.

Calling all Makers to the Shorewood Artisan Market! | |

It's almost Summer, Shorewood! And we are still calling all makers to the Shorewood Artisan Market!
Are you a business that sells produce, small-batch food products, crafts, or other goods? If, so consider heading to our Artisan Market this year.
The Market will run alongside Party in the Park every Thursday in June and July from 6:30-9:00 pm. Party in the Park features movies and bands each week that draw crowds of all ages!

Splash Pads will open Friday, May 24th (Memorial Day Weekend) through Monday, September 2nd (Labor Day Weekend). Splash Pads are located at the following parks:
