"Fulfilling the Vision...Continuing the Legacy."

"Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord , And in His law he meditates day and night."

- Psalms 1:1-2 NKJV

Congratulations to Mrs. Riley for being awarded the Clarence Henderson Education Foundation Leadership Award while attending the Carolina New Leadership Summit on Saturday. Mrs. Riley was recognized for her innovative leadership within the local and state educational communities. She is an exemplary role model and leader in private school education. Under her leadership, the students of Victory Christian Center School have been afforded academic opportunities in which they have been successful beyond the confines of the classroom.

Thank you, Mrs. Riley, and to God be the glory!

Last week was absolutely loaded for the Kings as every student in the building had the opportunity to venture outside the walls of 1501. The students totally enjoyed themselves. From strolling and exploring the streets to enjoying a game of Top Golf, the Kings experienced the highlights of the Queen City. Others ventured beyond our fair city and went back in time as they boarded Noah's Ark in Williamstown, KY and then ventured to Cincinnati, Ohio to visit King's Island theme park.

Carolina New Leadership Summit

On Saturday, a group of VCCS Kings loaded the bus and traveled to Greensboro to attend the Carolina New Leadership Summit - a grassroots movement with the mission of informing minority groups of their rights and responsibility to be "in the know" surrounding political issues.

Summit attendees heard from Lt. Governor Mark Robinson; NC State Representative Ken Fontenot; former inmate and Spokesman for Americans for Citizens Voting, Craig Scott; and Gil Pagan, President of Hispanos Del Sur (Southern Hispanics) to name a few. One interesting take away was the push to ensure Citizen Only Voting. There are actually four states and our nation's capital that allow non-citizens this right. The day was filled with valuable information, electric speakers, and three engaging panels.

VCCS is so very grateful to have received the invitation for our students to attend this amazing event. We extend a heartfelt thank you to the McKain Partnership Group and the Americans for Citizens Voting for inviting us into the room.
