Construction Update

The Palmdale Veteran Enriched Neighborhood is nearing completion, and we couldn't be more excited! Phase 4 is wrapped up, and the foundations for Phase 5 have been poured. As for framing: This year's upcoming annual Rainbow Build is going to be an incredible event where we will be raising walls! We invite you to join us for this remarkable event as we frame the homes for our next six veterans!

Our Annual Rainbow Build engages neighborhoods, corporations and the LGBTQA+ community in Homes 4 Families mission to build resiliency, economic growth, neighborhoods, and homes for veteran families.

Family Services

The Garden Club in the Palmdale community has fostered family connections and strengthened teamwork among members.

By adhering to a watering schedule, the plants have been thriving. They have also implemented shading solutions for the garden boxes, which appear to be effective.

Looking ahead, the Garden leader and club members plan to construct a garden box for the long planters, build a trellis at the Rainbow Build, and consider their next steps for the flourishing tomatoes and peppers in the garden beds.

Evan Olalde, from our Palmdale community, invited Homes 4 Families to present their program to soldiers.

An outreach event took place at the Army National Guard in Van Nuys, where our Family Services Department was able to discuss the program with attendees.

It was noted that 70 soldiers were set to deploy to the Middle East on the same day, which reinforced the ongoing need for housing and services to be in place for when these young men and women return home.

Homes for Families CEO,

Donna Deutchman

It is with deep appreciation that we announce Donna Deutchman, CEO of Homes for Families for the past 18 years, has decided to retire at the end of September 2024. As her friends and colleagues, we are saddened by her departure, yet we are excited for her as she embarks on the opportunity to pursue her passions that she has put aside as she helped build Homes for Families into the strong and successful organization that is today.
