IIn this issue we’ll take a look at the Elan Acoustic Guitar.
As always, we have some new and demo instruments you can see on our Available Now page including Veillette Woodstock instruments as well as Avante Gryphons

The Elan originated as the Penta, a name that refers to its being tuned up a fifth from standard tuning – High B to B. It was a collaboration with one of our dealers, David Butler of Terra Guitars. It was a variation on our Terz, tuned higher like a standard instrument capoed at the 7th fret.
The first was a 7-string nylon version with a low F# string. Sinker Redwood top, Zircote back and sides, it sounded amazing.
We made a few more steel string instruments in 12 and 6 string versions and one made its way to George at Gruhn Guitars who liked it and asked us to make a couple more, which we did.
George was selling a lot of Avante Gryphons at the time and wanted an Avante version of the High B-B Elan. These Avante instruments are available exclusively at Gruhn Guitars.
Mahogany body and neck with Sitka spruce top. Available in 6 and 12 string versions, in Natural or Tobacco Burst finishes.
We’re offering Woodstock-built Elans as well, we hope to have a few available at the end of summer and will keep you posted.

Two notable customers include Al Di Meola, shown here with his new Avante Elan with George Gruhn, and Vince Gill who played his custom Sinker Redwood/Walnut Elan while on tour with the Eagles.

Vince was also kind enough to make this video when he was at Gruhn Guitars recently extolling the benefits of the Elan.
