NEW BOARD MEMBERS CHOSEN

At the October 21, Valpo Chamber Board Meeting, two new members were appointed to begin a three year term on January 1, 2015. Karen Johnson with Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute and Patrick McGinely with Horizon Bank will both be a part of the board of directors.

In addition to the new appointees, both Darron Farha with Valparaiso University and John Walsh with Heat Wagon, Inc. will be starting their second three year term on January 1.

Directors are appointed through a process outlined in the bylaws which allow for an individual to serve two consecutive, three year terms. For a complete list of Valpo Chamber Board Members, click here.

VALPO CHAMBER 2015 PARTNERSHIPS

The Valpo Chamber Partners (VCP) program, launched in 2006, provides members with options for streamlining their Chamber sponsorship opportunities, while enhancing their visibility and promotional opportunities.

This annual marketing campaign prominently promotes your business on signage, inside Chamber publications, on our website, and at events throughout the year. The VCP is a terrific way to gain extensive exposure and valuable name and logo recognition.

The VCP features four partner packages to choose from - Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze - at four price points. Each package includes incentives, complimentary tickets to events, special recognition and promotion, and sponsorship of high-profile networking and educational events.

BUSINESS AFTER HOURS

Business After Hours events are a staple for Chambers of Commerce all across the United States. Each year, the Valpo Chamber hosts quite a number of them.

October was a special month for Business After Hours. Each year, several restaurants come together to host the event after Chamber Network Night. Over 350 people attended this year's After Hours event. Special thanks to the Valpo Chamber participating members: Birky Family Farms, Culver's of Valparaiso, Domino's Pizza, Parkside Urban Bistro, Petey's Gyros, Strongbow Inn, Town & Country Market, and Yats Cajun Creole.

November will see the final Business After Hours for 2014. This month's host will be Figure Eight Brewing on Thursday, November 20, 2014, from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Make sure you mark your calendar to join us.

A Business After Hours, if you have not attended, is a casual networking event hosted at a member's business.

PERCOLATOR LUNCHEON SERIES CONCLUDES
The Percolator Luncheon Series concludes on Thursday, November 13, 2014. At this event, Valparaiso Community Schools Superintendent Dr. E. Ric Frataccia will speak on the state of the schools and their future. To register for this event, click here.

CHAMBER NETWORK NIGHT - A HUGE SUCCESS!

Chamber Network Night was once again the premier event for business to business networking!

On Thursday, October 16, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. the Porter County Chamber Coalition of the Valparaiso, Portage, Chesterton/Duneland, Hebron and Kouts Chambers, hosted the largest business-to-business networking event in the region.

With over 1,000 business professionals touring the Porter County Expo Center looking for the best new products and services offered in Porter County, Chamber Network Night was a rousing success.

The grand sponsor for this year's event was First Merchants Bank. The Business After Hours was sponsored by First Merchants Bank and Porter Health Care System. VALPO CHAMBER STAFF VOLUNTEERED AT BUILD

On October 7th, the Valpo Chamber staff volunteered for the Valpo Parks to help build the new ValPlayso. Thank you to the member businesses who also helped out with this effort.

It may have been a little wet the day we volunteered, but spirits were high and it was very exciting. The Valpo Chamber is proud to have been a part of such an exciting community project.

Throughout the year, the Valpo Chamber staff periodically looks for volunteer efforts. If your organization is in need of a team of volunteers, please don't hesitate to contact us.
