VALLEJO, CA - On July 6, 2024, at approximately 12:54 AM, Vallejo Police Department's Patrol Division officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle near Sonoma Blvd. and Lemon St. The driver of the vehicle
failed to yield and started traveling at a high rate of speed, initiating a pursuit.
The suspect vehicle led officers on a short pursuit that concluded when it collided with an uninvolved vehicle near Sonoma Blvd. and Tennessee St.
Officers along with members of the Vallejo Fire Department rendered medical aid to the occupants in both vehicles. Despite their efforts, one of the male occupants in the suspect vehicle succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other occupants were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
The Solano County Major Crimes Task Force responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
