Vallejo Community Access Television's Video in a Box

Video in a Box is a part of the Vallejo Community Access Television (VCAT) community involvement plan to broaden content contribution and allow various levels of production from Vallejo's youth. The program gives individuals the opportunity to tell a story and contribute videos using a smart phone. Videos must be shorter than four minutes and thirty seconds and every month a winner will be chosen. The winning content will be a part of VCAT's annual meetings and the winner will be interviewed. VCAT is hoping to invite movie and film companies from around the state to serve as sponsors and guests. It is anticipated that the program will launch on July 1. VCAT is a community media service organization that provides access to facilities, equipment and training to enable community members to produce their own content. VCAT is a non-profit organization in partnership with the City of Vallejo, the Vallejo City Unified School District and Solano Community College. The mission of VCAT is to provide public access television to Vallejo residents to increase community awareness and pride, enhance educational opportunities and showcase talent. Vallejo Kaiser Promotes Employee Safety with Super Heroes

Kaiser Permanente put a new spin on employee safety this past Monday. Attractions at the "Super Heroes of Safety" fair included Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, Hawk Man, and Captain America. Around 500 employees attended the fair from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the hospital's courtyard, with each department offering an information table hosted by a safety manager. Rehabilitation Department Manager Carrie Maloney's objective was to instill the "three A's": "Assess every patient every time, Ask for help or offer help, and Anticipate fatigue or behavior." Information tables by non-hospital personnel included the Vallejo Police Department, Fleet Feet Sports, and Best Fire Equipment. The safety fair is offered twice a year and it was the first time Super Heroes was the theme. For more information about Kaiser's safety fair, click here.
