Baby Dedications
Last week, we celebrated a special moment in our worship service – the dedication of two precious babies to God's care. It's a reminder that we are all God's children, belonging to a loving Father.
Levi Andryle Superficial
Levi will be celebrating his first birthday on September 28th. He joins his big sister, Kalie Yzabelle, who was dedicated here two years ago. His parents, Camille and Ryan, were born and raised in the Philippines. Camille followed her passion to become a teacher, while Ryan pursued a career in nursing. Their story is a testament to friendship and enduring connections. Their paths first crossed in kindergarten and later, Ryan's mom even became Camille's high school teacher! Though they attended different high schools and colleges, they stayed connected through mutual friends and mutual passion for music and traveling. This lifelong friendship eventually blossomed into love. In 2011, they moved to the USA, both establishing careers in elderly care. For the past six years, they've been attending the Vallejo Drive and have made it their church home.
Sadie Rose Gupilan-Hernandez
Happy 3rd birthday to Sadie, who just turned a year older last week! Growing up within our church family, her mom, Margeaux, was nurtured here at VDC. In fact, Vallejo has been the Gupilan extended family’s church for three generations—a total of ten families. She attended GAA and had Lisa Vigil for her kindergarten teacher. From a young age, she was a natural athlete, even playing basketball on a scholarship at the University of Buffalo.
Margeaux's path intertwined with Sadie’s dad, Alan’s, in a unique way. Her high school friend's fiancé turned out to be Alan's cousin! They both ended up going to a group outing to Six Flags Magic Mountain. While Margeaux, a roller coaster enthusiast, enjoyed the ride, she was surprised when Alan, seated next to her, popped the question about a relationship – amidst the thrills! Luckily, it led to happily ever after. After a year and a half of dating, they married in 2020. Alan, with a dream of owning his own barber shop, achieved that goal after attending a barber school. Today, he runs a successful shop in Los Angeles. They are now a growing family, with a new addition soon to join Sadie!
We are truly blessed to have both families as part of our church. It's a privilege to witness the dedication of Levi and Sadie to God, surrounded by their church family.
