VALLEJO CHIEF OF POLICE WELCOMES 2021-2023 TERM ADVISORY BOARD MEMBERS
18 Vallejo Leaders Chosen for Chief’s Community Advisory Board (CAB)
VALLEJO - The Vallejo Police Department (VPD) is pleased to announce the next step in building a positive and collaborative relationship with the community. After reviewing more than 60 candidate applications, Chief of Police Shawny Williams has selected a total of 18 Vallejo leaders and organizers to serve on the Chief’s Community Advisory Board (CAB).

“Firstly, I’d like thank all of the candidates who expressed their interest and applied to be a part of the advisory board,” Chief Williams stated. “Working in concert with respected members of our community is integral to creating transformational change, and I am excited to work with this highly motivated and diverse group.”

Vallejo business leaders, LGBTQ representatives, youth advocates, faith leaders and more will be providing valuable insight and advice to help move our department and community forward. The CAB will provide advice on community policing, strategic planning, and provide feedback on community concerns directly to Chief Williams.

The board will serve in an advisory and volunteer capacity and will not have power or authority to investigate, review, or participate in matters involving specific police personnel or specific police-related incidents. CAB members will also collaborate with the Department’s community engagement and crime reduction efforts.

  • Mental Health Response
  • Crime Statistics and Trends                                                                               
  • Transparency
  • Homelessness                                                                    
  • Technological Advancements                                                             
  • Community Outreach and Engagement                                                    
  • Crime Prevention                                                 
  • Neighborhood Programs
