Calling all heroes.
Vacation Bible School is coming!
Register now.

Vacation Bible School is more than a great summer experience for children. It’s the perfect summer opportunity for youth and adults to have an awesome time volunteering too.

Parents, now’s the time to sign up your child (or children) for our fun and unforgettable VBS program.

If you’re a teen (6-12 grade) or an adult (with or without kids), help us make this the best VBS ever. It's not to early to sign up.
  • Teens can earn service hours.
  • To make volunteering easier for families, we will offer nursery for siblings under 3 each day of VBS

This year’s theme is Hero Hotline: Called Together to Serve God! You can go here to learn more.

Here’s the link to our registration form (for students AND volunteers). Please fill it out and return it to Ashlee Ligon, either in person or by email – childrensministry@doers.org

Children and Youth Ministry are putting on a teacher appreciation lunch for the St. James's Children Center teachers on Thursday, May 11 at 12:30pm.

We’re excited to shower them with some love during Teacher Appreciation Week.
Beginning on the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend (May 28)

If it looks familiar, that’s because it’s the Summer schedule we had prior to the pandemic – worship at 8 am and 10 am, with fellowship between the services but with more of the outdoor options y’all love so much. We look forward to worshiping and gathering with you
all Summer long.

Wednesday Night Dinner.
Only two left!

We only have two Wednesday Night Dinners left! There's nothing better than a meal cooked by our food team. Dinner begins at 5:30 pm in Valentine Hall.

We will put the menu in our Tuesday email and also post it on social media.

The suggested donation is $5 per person, with a $20 maximum per family. Try and find a better deal than that!
We’re looking to grow
our LiveStream Team.

No experience or special skills required.

We now have a crew of trained people who create the live-streams of our Sunday services and other worship events – but we’d love to have some volunteers to help us make things run even better.

You don’t need any special skills to join the Video Squad, just enthusiasm and reliability. Over time, you’ll learn how we create our live-streams and you’ll have the satisfaction of being part of an important ministry here at St. James’s.

If you think you’d like to help out, call Jay Sandusky, Director of Communications, at
804-355-1779, ext 344 or write to him at jsandusky@doers.org.
Parishioner who passed away recently:
G. Gilmer Minor III (d. 5/3/2023)

We commend Gil to God’s love.

If you would like information on how to reach out to the loved ones of the deceased, please do not hesitate to contact the church offices.

Here are the names of those we're remembering in our prayers this week.

We do our best to keep this list current, but if you want your name added or removed, please email Mary Brown at mbrown@doers.org or call her at 804-355-1779 ext. 313
