Let’s CAN HOMETOWN HUNGER together!

It’s that time of year when all our adult Sunday School classes meet together to study God’s word, get to know each other, and grow in faith.

This year we will be studying the thought provoking book, Wrestling with Doubt, Finding Faith by Adam Hamilton. Hamilton reminds us that “everyone has doubts. Where is God when bad things happen? Does God hear our prayers? Is there a heaven? How can we know? Whether you’re a longtime Christian or someone brand new to faith, this study will lead you to a trust in God that is unafraid of hard questions." Wrestling with doubt and finding faith leads us to deeper belief and trust.

MISSION OPPORTUNITY

Interested in serving as part of a mission team to Cuba? Mike Burgamy, member of Irwinton/Toomsboro UMC, is leading a team this Fall and currently has openings. The trip is set for November 1-11, 2024. Burgamy has made nearly 30 trips to Cuba since 2008 as he supports the Cuban Methodist Church. “The need for help in Cuba now is greater than ever before,” said Burgamy. “There's a lack of basic necessities. As a team, we provide as many items as we can for the church. Even more important than the material items we take, though, is building and strengthening relationships with those in the church.” The cost for the trip is $2,300 and departs from Atlanta, Ga. Visa requests must be made to the Cuban government no later than August 1. For more information, contact Mike Burgamy at (770) 598-5279 and burgamym@gmail.com.

CREATE AND CONNECT

There’s just something about spending some time with others in a relaxed setting that leads to great conversation, deeper connections and new found friendship. That’s why I am personally inviting all of our ladies to join us for Create and Connect night at Board and Brush Creative Studio on July 23 at 6:00pm.

Here are some of the reasons you should come:

-you will get to hang out with some really cool women from Vineville and beyond.

-you will create something you love for your own home or a gift for someone you love.

-you will laugh, share stories, sing along with the music, and have a blast.

-you will have had an EXPERIENCE. Experiences add to our life.

-you will get to work out all your stress sanding down your project.

-you can invite friends, neighbors, and your own daughters (including high school-age girls) /family members

-you need a night off for yourself and for fun.

-you can create something even if you are not creative (I promise this is completely true).

Check out our display at the CLC entrance to see examples of just a few of the items you can choose from when you sign up to attend. Drinks and refreshments will be provided. Let’s fill up the Board and Brush studio with Vineville women! Register today. For more info, contact Teresa Edwards or Sarah Hazelrig.
