Orange, VA - Today, the Virginia Shooting Sports Association (VSSA), the Commonweath's oldest gun rights organization and the state affiliate association of the NRA, announced its endorsement of Ken Cuccinelli for Governor. The endorsement noted Cuccinelli's longtime support for the rights of Virginia's gun owners and sportsmen.
In endorsing Cuccinelli, VSSA Legislative Chairman David Adams wrote "You have proven to be a true leader and advocate for the rights of law-abiding gun owners throughout your time in public office. Not only have you voted to support pro-gun legislation, you have been an active patron of legislation to protect our rights."
VSSA also today announced it's endorsement of E.W. Jackson for Lt. Governor and State Senator Mark Obenshain for Attorney General. Jackson has expressed a clear understanding of the Second Amendment and has pledged to oppose any infringements on the rights of gun owners. Senator Mark Obenshain has a long history of supporting the rights of Virginia gun owners, including voting to repeal the ban on carrying concealed firearms in family-oriented restaurants that serve alcohol as well as food, voting to repeal Virginia's handgun rationing law known as "one gun-a-month," and introducing legislation in 2013 that protects the personal identifying information of Virginia's over 250,000 concealed handgun permit holders.
In making the endorsements, VSSA urges all Virginia gun owners to do all they can in the last 36 days of the campaign to insure the Cuccinelli, Jackson, and Obenshain are elected on November 5th. |
