Turner (D-Grand Prairie), chair of the House Democratic caucus,
made the statement earlier this month when speaking about how unified the 55 Texas House Democrats will enter the 2019 session. Members in the minority party in the 150-member chamber have typically played a role in building the 76-member consensus necessary to elect the House Speaker. There are currently seven House members publicly seeking the position, which will be chosen on the first day of the legislative session beginning in January.

VOTE
: Early Voting ends this week ahead of the Nov. 6 General Election
Texas general elections are being held across the state on Tuesday, Nov. 6. Registered voters have until the end of this week - close of business on Friday, Nov. 2 - to vote early by personal appearance. Voters mailing in early ballots have until 7 p.m. on Nov. 6 (Election Day) to have their ballots received.
