NAR Commission Settlement Updates:
All commission fields have been removed from the Vail MLS as of 8/1. There were several rule changes sent out regarding what will no longer be permitted in the MLS or Broadcast Email service. Details, with a link to the updated VMLS Rules & Regulations and Broadcast Email Cheat Sheet are below.
Communication of compensation in any fields in the MLS is prohibited. Public and private remarks have constraints put in place to prevent agents from entering a listing with any remarks or keywords that attempt to communicate compensation.
VMLS will no longer allow ANY type of website or external link in ANY field in the MLS. In accordance with the settlement agreement, brokerage websites or external links being used to communicate compensation cannot be linked to from the MLS. Therefore, at this time we cannot allow any type of URL/websites in any fields.
There is one exception to this rule, IF the property is located in a Metro District, the website for the Metro District may be entered into the designated field for Metro District websites. This field may not be used for any other websites such as HOA or property websites.
Virtual Tours are still permitted in the MLS but may only be entered into the designated virtual tour fields in the MLS.
This rule also applies to the Broadcast Email System. Email content sent to Broadcast Email lists may NOT contain websites/URLs, External Links. This includes links from flyers and email signatures. This will result in possible fines and suspension from the email system. We ask that you please use your own email systems to send marketing emails.
