Monumental Progress

Crews recently wrapped up construction of new gateway monument signs at well-traveled intersections throughout the District. Check out this project update from Robert Fiederlein, our VP of Planning and Infrastructure. “When you pass through one of these intersections, you’ll know you’re entering a place that’s being cared for and invested in.”

Go Skate Day

Go Skate Day had 400 people at North Houston Skate Park on June 21. Local business Geometric Skate Shop partnered with Daniel Barousse and Element Skateboards to give away 75 complete skateboards. Check out this recap from Go Skate Day 2023 and learn more about upcoming events by following North Houston Skate Park on social.

Safety Standards

North Houston District provides a variety of public safety programs and activities to supplement the hard work of local law enforcement agencies. In 2023, Tracy Harrison, our VP of Public Safety, partnered with the Houston Police Department Apartment Enforcement Unit to host a Blue Star Multi-Housing Program training for apartment communities in our area.

Turtle Murals

We partnered with UP Art Studio on new trail art, expanding the District's Public Art Program to popular pedestrian areas near Greens Road and Imperial Valley Drive. The murals were inspired by native bayou wildlife that live in Greens Bayou. Hear from NHD President Greg Simpson and Muralist Robin Munro.
