Join us in a Spirit of Wonder this Week

The God who created all is also the one true God who loves books and words. As the author behind all human authors, God inspired His Holy Word for His people. Historically, in the West, Christians have been known as “a people of the book.” There are many reasons Christians have a great deal to lose if literacy declines. We have much to gain, if the love of reading is recovered in our day.

A few years ago, Veritas Christian Academy started a good and beautiful tradition. It is a school-wide door decoration competition. Illiteracy (not being able to read) is not as common in America as it once was, but aliteracy (able to read, but not reading) is epidemic, including in most K12 schools.

Education at Veritas is full of wonder. God’s world is wonderful, His human beings bearing His amazing image are wonderful, the civilizations we image bearers make are wonderful and the workings of our imaginations can also be filled with wonder designed for our enjoyment. Join us in this spirit of wonder as your look at the doors our students enjoyed making.

Warrior News

Basketball season concluded for all four of our basketball teams last week in the CSAA State Tournament. On the boys side, our Varsity Team beat Victory Christian Academy 86-49 in the quarterfinals before losing to Shining Light Academy 67-73 in the semifinals. Veritas finished the season with a record of 20-6. Thank you to Trent Wells for coaching the team.

Our JV Boys team lost in the semifinals to Mountain View Christian Academy 40-45. The Warriors finished the season with a record of 12-11. Thank you to Mike Jennings and Adam Guice for coaching the team.

The Varsity Girls lost in the semifinals to Lab University Prep 40-71. Veritas finished the season with a record of 16-7. Thank you to Patrick Holcombe, Thomas McClain, and Sydney Holcombe for coaching the team.

Our JV Girls lost to Temple Baptist 22-33 in the quarterfinals. VCA finished the season with a record of 12-8. Thank you to Michelle McClain for coaching the girls this year.
