Logic/Rhetoric Parent-Teacher Conferences

As Conference season is upon us, we wanted to remind you that there is no day set aside for conferences this year. Instead, we are opting for parents and teachers to schedule conferences as needed sometime between October 9th and November 10th. You may email your child's teacher directly to request a conference, or they may reach out to you should a meeting be needed. Otherwise, conferences are not required.

C.S. Lewis: The Abolition of Man

How might the education our students receive at Veritas, as a Classical Christian school, be a counter to the terrible education Lewis describes in The Abolition of Man?

Tune in to hear an interview with Mrs. Ward (Rhetoric school teacher) about a recent course on C.S. Lewis's book that she recently completed.

Warrior News

Our Cross Country Team had a meet at Lake Lure last week. The girls' team finished in first place out of three teams. Hannah Stage finished first out of 43 girls, with a time of 23:43. Shea Nichols (25:03), Emma Stover (25:11), and Lydia Lewis (25:14) also turned in top 5 finishes. On the boys' side, Callen Whitney (22:06) was the top finisher for Veritas, finishing 10th out of 60 runners.

The Veritas Soccer Teams had a productive week. On the Varsity side, the Warriors defeated Lake Lure Classical Academy (6-0), Temple Baptist School (10-1), Franklin School of Innovation (7-1), and The Master’s Academy (3-2). The Logic School Team tied IC Imagine (1-1), lost to Pinnacle Classical Academy (0-1), and beat the Asheville Trailblazers (3-1)

The Varsity Volleyball Team won all three matches without dropping a set. Our girls beat Lake Lure (3-0), Franklin School of Innovation (3-0), and The Master’s Academy (3-0). Our JV Team beat Lake Lure (2-0) and TMA (2-0). In between those two matches, our JV Team played against a Varsity Team from Temple Baptist and won the match 3-2. Great job ladies! Our Logic School Team lost to IC Imagine (1-2), but then defeated FSI (2-0) and TMA (2-0).

We will leave sign-ups for basketball out for a few more days. If you have someone that needs to sign up, please send them to the front office.

Go Warriors!
