Faith in Action: St. James’s and Caritas
As part of their “Partner Spotlight” series, our friends at Caritas, one of our primary outreach partners, have created a video that explores the decades-long relationship between St. James's and CARITAS in Richmond, VA. As they say in the notes that accompany the video, “St. James's has provided tangible support to CARITAS from our earliest days as a mobile shelter to today's comprehensive program offerings at the CARITAS Center.” The video chronicles the full history of our relationship.
You can watch it here.
There’s also a short accompanying article on their website called “Faith in Action”.
You can read it here.

How would you change the church?
May 10 and 11
While the church seems steeped in tradition, the truth is, it’s always changing. If you’d like insights into the way the Church is – and could be – changing, or if you have thoughts you’d like to share, The Church as Movement is an event you won't want to miss.
The Dioceses of Virginia and Southern Virginia have come together to co-sponsor a free two-day conference for anyone interested in church planting, church revitalization, or shifting the paradigms of existing churches from one of attraction to one centered on mission and discipleship. Author, speaker, and National Director of the V3 Church Planting Movement, JR Woodward, will invite us to consider why our current paradigms of Church need to change and offer guidance on ways to bring about such change. To learn more about V3 Church Planting Movement go here.
This conference will provide space to pray, dream, and discern how God may be calling you to think of and be the Church differently within your own Episcopal context. Individuals (both lay and ordained) and church groups are invited to attend.
The conference is free with registration.

The elevator is still out of service.
We were delighted to re-open the elevator for Easter. But there are still some cosmetic changes that need doing, so the elevator will be out of order for the next few weeks. We apologize for any inconvenience.
