THIRTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

JOIN US FOR MASS THIS WEEKEND

Saturday at 5:00pm

Sunday at 9:00am

Sunday at 11:00am

This weekend, Fr. Alex Pablo will be celebrating all of our Masses. We are grateful and blessed to have him!

READINGS FOR THE THIRTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

PRACTICE OF FAITH

Jesus gives Jairus, and us, some seemingly simple advice in Sunday's Gospel: "Do not be afraid; just have faith" (Mark 5:36). Though we are made in the image of God's nature, death entered the world, and we experience it in our sinfulness. When we are afflicted, it can be easy to be like those weeping and mourning the death of Jairus' daughter and ridicule Jesus as he calls us to not be afraid. However, we must cultivate a prayer life that strengthens us to believe that Christ will meet us as we experience hardships and afflictions.

  • Read Sunday's Gospel several times and place yourself in Jairus' home. Where do you find yourself? What happens to you when you hear Jesus say "Talitha koum"? After seeing the little girl rise and walk around, what do you do?
  • How can you accompany someone who is suffering to rise from their hardships?

We are doing our best to continue to provide a safe space to worship for everyone. Click here to see current COVID safety measures.

Live Stream Mass is on Sundays at 9:00am.

ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL

This week we will take up the Peter’s Pence Collection to support the Universal Church and the work of the Holy See, including helping Pope Francis to carry out his charitable works. These works benefit our brothers and sisters on the margins of society, including victims of war, oppression, and disasters. Please be generous. For more information, visit www.obolodisanpietro.va/en.html.

ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL

We are now moving into our 11th week of the 2024 Annual Catholic Appeal. The good news is we have received pledges/gifts from five more households this weekend! But it means there are still 563 households that have not yet responded - 70% of the parish! It’s not too late for you to give!

Your gift to the Annual Catholic Appeal helps put our faith into action by supporting our brothers and sisters in need. Your gifts to the Annual Catholic Appeal continue to help our parishes and the archdiocese carry on the ministries and mission of our Catholic Church.

If you haven’t made your gift, won’t you please consider making a gift this year? No gift is too small. If you’re unsure what to give, please consider a gift of $1 a day or $365 or more.

Use the button below to give online, or use an envelope located in the pews. Or you can call the Annual Appeal office at 800-809-4921. And remember, our % participation

is a reflection on our parish. The archdiocese will be looking at it when they make future decisions. Thank you!
