Greetings!
When I began this letter last week, I started off, as I usually do, expressing my gratitude for staff, volunteers, and donors. My writing was interrupted multiple times due to needs in the community - sometimes by a biotherapy patient, sometimes students, sometimes therapists seeking advice or assistance from the BTER Foundation.
Ultimately, I never finished this letter by Thanksgiving day. I still did not finish by Giving Tuesday! But that is how it goes, at the BTER Foundation . . . priority is always given to the needs of those we are here to serve.
Now, my newsletter will have to wait even longer, because someone needs your attention even more than I do: a journalist writing for Discover Magazine who is looking to interview therapists and patients with maggot therapy or leech therapy experience.
Kate Golembiewski interviewed me yesterday, and would like the opportunity to speak with additional therapists and/or patients. Like most journalists, she is under a tight deadline, so I am giving her the benefit of this platform, and asking for your assistance. I will finish my end-of year newsletter over the next few days, including a review of some of this year's accomplishments (yes, we accomplished a lot this year, despite the pandemic, the fires, the evacuations, and the toilet paper shortages). I look forward to sharing all of that with you, in the next newsletter. But doing the work of the Foundation always takes precedence over talking about the work.
