Since 1953 Urban League of San Diego County is a community-based, direct service, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) and an affiliate of the National Urban League that focuses on empowering underserved communities. ULSDC works to achieve social and economic equality through advocacy, bridge-building, programs, services, and research. The organization maintains a strong focus on policy, practice, and protest regarding youth education and family support services through employment, housing, elderly health outreach, and women’s re-entry programs.

Urban Beat News & Updates is a newsletter that has been committed to keeping the County of San Diego region informed, connected, and involved since the 1980s. The Urban Beat News & Updates consists of over 15,000 subscribers representing internal and external stakeholders from education, health, workforce, housing, civic engagement, government, media, nonprofits, businesses, corporations, philanthropic organizations, and the community. The newsletter includes community events and resources, funding, and employment opportunities. Urban Beat News & Updates publishes occasional e-mails on behalf of its partners and also reserves the right to select which events to publish. All e-mails are sent out as a free community service and are not connected to any particular political affiliations.
