Urban League of San Diego County

Golden Pyramid Scholars Program & College Signing Day

It is that time of the year to celebrate youth achieving excellence in education! Since 1994, we have been celebrating our youth for academic success. Special thanks to our founding program event leaders who created this opportunity.

Join us in celebrating our youth with a 3.5 GPA and above. The Urban League and our partners will also distribute student scholarships at this event.

The Urban League of San Diego County, in partnership with Grossmont College, is hosting the 2024 Annual Golden Pyramid Scholars Award Ceremony for students in grades 8th through 12th who have maintained a cumulative 3.5 or higher grade point average. The event will occur at Grossmont College on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.

Family members, friends, community leaders, and board members will participate in a salute of these student power players with high scholastics. In contrast, community and academic leaders promote a college-going culture of academic success. The Urban League designed this program to identify, recruit, cultivate, and support students striving to achieve academic and economic excellence. The college venue exposes students to a college campus and reinforces the perception of college as a viable and achievable option. “The Urban League of San Diego County understands that by openly acknowledging our youth in a public forum, we make it clear to them and the community that we believe in and support their achievements,” said Larry Reed, Board Chair. “These young leaders are honored because they demonstrate that ‘Achievement Matters.’ They are the building blocks of our community and our future leaders.

Registration is open until April 30th. Please use this link below to visit our website for more information.
