Founded in 1986, The Upper Room is a non-profit family resource center located in Derry, NH. We offer programs for individuals, parents, teens and young adults. Our staff, volunteers and board members are committed to improving people's lives and encourage your participation and referrals.

Snow Policy
- When Pinkerton Academy has a delay, all of our programs start at 10 am.
- When Pinkerton closes in the morning, we do not hold in-person programs.
- If school cancellations happen in the afternoon, we will announce closing evening programs by 2 pm.

Family Ties - Inside Out Teen Group
Virtual group for teens with an incarcerated parent
First and third Tuesdays of the month

4:30 - 5:30 pm
FREE confidential group for teens ages 14 – 19 who have a parent who has been incarcerated. In these virtual support groups, teens and their caregivers can feel supported, offer understanding to others, process feelings, and learn how to cope with them.

Anna Willis Memorial Scholarship
This $500 scholarship is being offered to a student in Salem, Derry, Londonderry, Windham, Pelham High schools who exemplifies character. The student must possess leadership roles, volunteerism, and academic strengths.
To Apply: Complete the application using space to explain how volunteering benefits both the people who volunteer and the communities they serve in.
Deadline: Applications will be accepted through April 14, 2023, reviewed by our scholarship committee, and notification to selected applicant will take place by May 13, 2023.

Youth Mental Health First Aid
Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders in youth. This 6-hour training gives adults who work with youth the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to children and adolescents (ages 6-18) who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.
