Christine & Brendan
"I started volunteering at CHQFPC because I wanted to start giving back to the community. Being an avid animal lover, I was immediately drawn towards their mission. In August 2017 I was privileged enough to start helping out on the floor during Saturday wellness clinic hours. I would help seat the guests, help hold their dogs while they filled out paperwork, and make sure the pets were kept at a safe distance. I’ve also probably done more loads of laundry there than at home! I wanted to help out in any way I could, wherever they needed me.

Once the COVID-19 pandemic spread, and we underwent quarantine, I could no longer go in. My husband, Brendan, at that point wanted to also get involved. While working with Debbie, we found a way to help even while quarantined.  We started getting involved in the effort to implement a new filing system. Brendan has driven countless trips to grab hundreds of folders at a time for him to take home, where we had an assembly line to have them ready for the office. We’ve lost count, but we’ve assembled at least 10,000 folders, and we were happy to do every one. We continue to help with the filing system and have attended any feral cat spay day possible. We have a sincere love for CHQFPC and want to continue their mission far into the future! "I volunteer at CHQFPC because making animal welfare and care services accessible and available to all members of the community is such an important mission. Both the animals and their families have a much better quality of life because of Carol House’s services and community outreach.

I have been volunteering at CHQFPC for about 5 years. My favorite activities are weekend Wellness events, Feral Cat spay/neuter days, and, most of all, community events where we go out to the families and provide vaccine clinics and outreach on animal welfare." ~ Derek
Teri
"What makes me want to volunteer at the clinic is my love of animals. I grew up with dogs and cats, and inherited my Great-Great-Aunt Ida's (Tante Ida's) love of dogs, in particular. When she died in the mid-20th century, she left everything she had to the Humane Society! I'm also a 5th generation resident of the College Hill Neighborhood in North St. Louis, and the clinic's work with residents of North St. Louis means the world to me. I feel the services that the clinic is providing for dogs and cats across the Bi-State area is making an impact in reducing the serious problem of pet overpopulation. 100,000 spays/neuters in 10 years is phenomenal." ~ Teri

April 17th – 23rd is National Pet ID Week!
National Pet ID Week provides pet owners a reminder to make sure their pet’s identification is up-to-date.

ID tags and microchips give lost pets the best chance to be reunited with their owners. It is estimated that one in three pets will go missing at some point in their life and most will never be returned home. This National Pet ID Week take the time to review your pet id method and make sure your contact information is up-to-date.

Pet ID Examples:
  • Microchips
  • Pet ID Collars
  • GPS Collars
  • Collar Tags

Carol House Quick Fix Pet Clinic offers microchipping service for $25
