Child Sexual Abuse:
A Survivor and An Advocate
On August 16 th our educators opened up and shared their own experiences with childhood sexual abuse to educate professionals and community members. Stephanie (left) is a survivor who’s strength has inspired so many people and Claudia is an advocate who helped her see that strength over 10 years ago.

The Safe Center is so lucky to have these speakers on our team.

Establishing a United Front
to End Sexual Violence
On July 24 th The Safe Center had the opportunity to speak with over 500 midshipmen from the United States Merchant Marine Academy.
These conversations with leaders are so important in the fight to end sexual violence and provide proper support for survivors.
We are so appreciative of this collaboration and thank you U.S. Merchant Marine Academy for welcoming The Safe Center and being part of the solution!

Self-Care Summer
At our all-staff retreat on July 19 th we reflected on the importance of self-care.  As a follow up to the retreat we will be implementing monthly self-care programs to assist us in exploring things we can implement in our own lives. This can help us with our individual self-care work and allow us to provide the best support to the families we serve!
