March, 2023

The Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to celebrate our 34th anniversary of empowering Hispanic-owned businesses and consumers across the state. Our nonprofit organization is guided by a passionate and diverse Board of Directors, dedicated to serving the needs of over 25,000 Hispanic businesses and 500,000 Latino consumers. We take pride in fostering a supportive community for our members, with engaging events and networking opportunities that promote growth and success. Let's continue to drive progress and celebrate the vibrant diversity of Michigan's Hispanic community together. Here's to another year of achievement and excellence!

February was an incredible month for us as we established strong relationships with our member businesses and community leaders through our successful event, the Latina Power Hour Business Networking gathering, and our Annual Membership Meeting. While March is certain to provide much fun and ‘madness’ with the NCAA basketball tournament, the MHCC has a few more reasons to look forward to this month and those that follow.

  • After three years of operating exclusively from home due to the pandemic and stay-at-home orders, we are thrilled to share that the MHCC is establishing a new office space this month! Our new location is at 1700 Harmon Rd., Suite One, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. We are excited and grateful to share this office space with the wonderful team of Reliance One, Inc.! Thank you, Jim Beath and Jim Paquette, co-founders of R1, for opening your doors to the MHCC. Stay tuned for more information to come through our website and social media.

  • March 29th – Economic Forum Breakfast at the DAC
  • Focus on the contributions and economic impact Latinos bring to our national economy and how companies can realize their full potential in Michigan.
  • Keynote Speaker: Stacie de Armas
  • Powerchat Panel: JoAnn Chavez, Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer DTE Energy, and Isabel Medellin, Global Director, DEI & Talent Acquisition at Steelcase.

  • The MHCC is taking its TERCER JUEVES on the road to Lansing!
  • Thursday, April 20th, from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm at UrbanBeat
  • Join us for an opportunity to connect with the Greater Lansing Hispanic business community, learn about the MHCC, and gain insight on the business development offerings of the HBeX – Hispanic Business Excellence Program through our Foundation – the Michigan Hispanic Fund.

As we continue into Q2, we’re developing new opportunities for members to become involved and engaged as representatives of the MHCC across our membership and in our communities. These include an Ambassador Program, a Mentorship Pilot Program, and volunteer opportunities. We are working hard to roll out these initiatives and will be sharing more details soon. If you have any questions or want to express interest in participating, please reach out to us!

Please read on to learn more about important programs and events. GRACIAS, for your continued commitment and support of the MHCC as we elevate our Hispanic business community in Michigan together!

Our Tercer Jueves is a networking event organized by the MHCC for members, non-members, business owners, and entrepreneurs from across the state! The purpose of this event is to create a space where our community can connect and build relationships.

During our February Tercer Jueves - Latina Power Hour, we had the pleasure of hosting five incredible women who are MHCC members. This was part of our initiative to celebrate women's leadership and entrepreneurship, and to foster meaningful conversations and connections. We want to extend our gratitude to Laurie Sall from ASPEN for hosting us and for her drive to make things happen! Special thanks to Courtney Morales, Estrella Crawford, Jennifer Good, and Maria Marin for your incredible and continuous support.
