Dear Springwood International Parents,

Welcome to the 2023 – 2024 school year at Springwood School. As we have embarked on a new academic year, we are delighted to extend a warm welcome to all our international students, both returning and new, along with their families to Springwood School. With 230 U.S. and 30 International students, Springwood has begun our fourth week of classes.

We want to share with our overseas families that in July, the Alabama Independent School Association (AISA) recognized Springwood as the 2022-23 recipient of the President’s Award. The President's Award recognizes the school in each of its divisions with the most outstanding academic and co-curricular achievements of students and excellence in professional standards in faculty. We also received AISA’s Blue Ribbon, which recognizes schools who have distinguished themselves through excellence in faculty and student achievement. Congratulations to the entire Springwood School community on these prestigious awards!

As we move forward through the school year, we assure you that the well-being, safety, and educational progress of your students remain our top priorities. Additionally, we thrive to provide a welcoming and fulfilling cultural experience for every student.

We encourage you to stay connected with our school through FACTS, the school website, and our social media channels for regular communication and updates. Also we extend an open invitation for you to visit Springwood School!

Sending warmest regards,

Ann Hixon

Welcome New Students!

This year, we are happy to welcome 18 new students and 12 returning students to the Springwood International Program! Students this year come from 9 different countries: Brazil, China, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Germany, Greece, India, South Korea, Spain, and Vietnam.

Back to School!

Students hit the ground running when they arrived, working with the registrar to finalize class schedules, meeting teachers, and getting their technology set up and ready for the first day of school.

Senior Moments

The 12th grade in the American school system is a special time for students; as their last year of high school, students strive to enjoy many "lasts" before moving on to their college years. Senior year at Springwood begins with a special Senior Walk on the first day of school and the Senior Retreat the first weekend. During the retreat, seniors enjoy time together as a class, participate in outdoor activities, and create goals they would like to accomplish during their senior year. The Springwood international program has 10 seniors this year.
