Water Disinfection Process
From March 1-31, 2024, the Town’s water suppliers including Harnett County, Johnston County, and the City of Raleigh temporarily change their water treatment process by suspending the use of ammonia. This disinfection process is a state-mandated practice to ensure safe drinking water.

Fuquay-Varina customers who use kidney dialysis machines and have fish aquariums should be aware that water may contain residual trace amounts of chlorine, ammonia, or a mixture of the two from March 1-31.

The Town of Fuquay-Varina will also conduct flushing of the distribution system to expedite this event. Customers should be aware that their drinking water may be slightly discolored.

While February is the designated month when we celebrate Black History our Black History Stakeholder/Town of Fuquay-Varina partnership projects can be found and celebrated year-round at www.FVBlackHistory.org.
