Bodega Film Festival Open Screening

Saturday, October 22nd – 5pm

Similar to open mics but with videos. Bring your USB with works in progress, old work, something you're proud of, or whatever! And let's just chat about what you're making. This is a space for an open dialogue among filmmakers to talk about their work in a casual, intimate setting.

Buena Suerte - Group Exhibition

On view from October 1st - October 29th

Closing Event - Saturday, October 28 at 2pm

“Buena Suerte;, which means good luck in Spanish, is a project that invited various artists to create murals inside Loisaida Center's courtyard that reflected upon the concept of Heritage. It brings together various artists from diverse backgrounds, as a way of expanding mutual thought and to provide each other a well intended "Good Luck" as they continue to navigate life in New York City as visual artists at various stages in their professional careers"

- Felix Morelo, Artist & Curator

The exhibition is on view from October 1st – October 29th inside the Loisaida Center and its West Courtyard. There is a closing event being planned for Saturday, October 28th  from 2-6pm that will include live music, spoken word/poetry and an open mic for guests.

Stop by the Loisaida Inc., Center to see the exhibition; Monday - Friday, 10am - 5pm or by appointment, see contact info next. For groups of 10 or more, please call (646) 726-4715 or email info@loisaida.org to schedule a visit.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

Ecolibrium at the LUNGS Harvest Arts Festival

The Ecolibrium team is very excited to have presented our prototype environmental monitor this past weekend in La Plaza Cultural de Armando Perez Community Garden, as part of the 11th Annual LUNGS Fall Harvest Arts Festival!

Loisaida and our Climate Science Literacy team finally got to test our prototype “on-the-field” monitor which surpassed our expectations and worked wonderfully.

Special thanks to our Climate Justice Associates and to Ravi for soldering and coding the prototype.

The LUNGS Harvest Arts Festival is still going on through Sunday, October 16th. Community gardens throughout the Lower East Side and East Village are participating. A detailed schedule can be found here.

Take the Ecolibrium Surveys!

Residential Energy Efficiency Survey

Is your fridge or AC always running but never cool? Tell us about it!

We've created a survey to determine just how many home appliances in the neighborhood are due for an upgrade. Not only do older refrigerators and air conditioners waste energy, they can also leak harmful refrigerants which contribute to climate change. Help us take count of how many of us would benefit from new energy efficient appliances that can help lower our monthly electricity bills.

It only takes 5-10 minutes to complete. Take the survey now!

Building Heating & Hot Water Survey

We created this survey is to determine the number of oil and gas burning boilers in our neighborhood. Oil and gas boilers use fossil fuels which have negative impacts on our health. Help us take count of how many of us would benefit from more environmentally safe boilers!

It only takes 5 minutes to complete. Take the survey now!

Thank you and stay tuned for more!
