Hello my dear ones,
Happy April, all! My vata and pitta predominant doshic friends out there are LOVING this warmer weather, am I right? (Except the freakin' wind, not very settling at all :( Our external world plays a key role in how we are feeling on the inside. I was happy to see the sun shining today and the trees standing still. Springtime is tricky as I wrote in my last newsletter, the weather can be very variable, vishama, triggering variable digestion and variable mind/body emotions.
If you are experiencing digestive or emotional ups and downs of the Spring season, give yourself a warm embrace today, it's all going to be okay. Keep eating to settle the mind with warmish foods, heavier nutrition if you are feeling depleted, lighter nutrition if you are feeling sluggish and for heaven's sake get moving outdoors (I've got 7 yds of mulch waiting for me this afternoon, come on by and BYO shovel :)
There's a lot I want to share with you in this newsletter as I've been busy scheduling workshops and teacher training programs in the community throughout the year. I've slowly been reconnecting with past students while at Seva Yoga in Yardley at my weekly Sunday, 7pm Restorative Yoga Class, which has been amazing to see those familiar faces (thank you!). I hope to see many more of you this year at programs that I'll be doing at Nourishing Storm Wellness yoga studio in Hatboro, Shanteel Yoga Sanctuary in Sellersville and the NEW F.L.O.W. Yoga studio in Langhorne.
Read more below about my upcoming workshops & trainings below and as always I'm here for you as an Ayurvedic Health Counselor and Practitioner in Training to help with any:
Digestive imbalances
Musculoskeletal issues
Cardiovascular concerns
Mental Health &
Endocrine System dysfunctions
If you want to know what I'm cooking right now to regulate and stoke my Spring digestive fire and to clear out any "sludge" accumulated over the Winter months then download this delicious Cauliflower (Breakfast) Soup recipe that can be eaten warmed on colder mornings for breakfast or later in the day as a light dinner. It contains cauliflower (obviously) and buckwheat which is an amazing gluten-free pseudocereal like quinoa. (Learn more about buckwheat) My dear Aunt Nancy sent this recipe to me several years ago, I was very doubtful I would like it, but can I say...I LOVE IT for these cooler Spring mornings. She likes to eat it cold during the hotter Summer months. I haven't tried that yet, so let me know how you like this soup!
