COVID-19 Resources

Updated COVID-19 Vaccine Information from CDC

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) updated its COVID Guidelines because the U.S. is seeing far fewer hospitalizations and deaths associated with COVID-19 and because we have more tools than ever to combat flu, COVID, and RSV.

As part of the guidance, CDC provides active recommendations on core prevention steps and strategies:

  • Wear a well-fitted mask (e.g. KN95)

  • Staying up to date with vaccination to protect against serious illness, hospitalization, and death. This includes flu, COVID-19, and RSV if eligible.
  • For more information on how to get vaccinated, please visit nyc.gov/covidvaccinedistribution or call 212-268-4319 for vaccination assistance.

  • Practicing good hygiene by covering coughs and sneezes, washing or sanitizing hands often, and cleaning frequently touched surfaces.

  • Staying home when you are sick(no longer a required 5days). “The recommendations suggest returning to normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, symptoms are improving overall, and if a fever was present, it has been gone without use of a fever-reducing medication.”

  • Once people resume normal activities, they are encouraged to take additional prevention strategies for the next 5 days to curb disease spread such as wearing a mask 5 for days and taking steps for cleaner air, such as bringing in more fresh outside air, purifying indoor air, or gathering outdoors.

For further information, please visit www.cdc.gov.
