Memorial Day events in Spring Lake

On Memorial Day, we honor those who have died in service of our country.

We recognize Memorial Day on Monday, May 27, with events available to our community.

Memorial Day Parade

The Spring Lake Memorial Day Parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday. It starts on the south side of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and heads east on Exchange Street, south on Lake Avenue and east on River Street. Participants will head north on Fruitport Road and the parade will end at the parking lot of All Shores Wesleyan Church. We encourage you and your families to find a spot along the parade route and honor the brave people who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Memorial Ceremony

A memorial ceremony is scheduled for noon in the Spring Lake Cemetery. The ceremony will take place in the cemetery on the west side of Fruitport Road.

During the ceremony, we will recognize those from Spring Lake who served in the armed forces and passed away within the last year. Township Supervisor Jerry Rabideau will welcome the community. John Baldus will read General Order No. 11, which created the first Memorial Day, and Ted Fricano will deliver remarks.

We would like to give special thanks to the Spring Lake High School musicians who will play the U.S. national anthem and "Taps.”
