Back to the Fifties Recap

The 49th Annual Back to the Fifties is in the books! With the help of over 2,000 volunteers working 4,000

shifts to make this event possible and 9,824 registered participants, it was another successful year!

Next year (June 21-23) the Fifties will turn 50! It is impossible to attend and not notice that the average age of attendees is significantly higher than that. It is hard to know how the show will evolve over time. It is a hopeful sign to see so many families who attend together. We can all hope that the younger generation will inherit these cars and the passion to maintain them.

Upcoming Car Events

Cars and Coffee will be at the Leamington Ramp in downtown Minneapolis on July 8th. The show will host the Ferrari Club, so the rooftop will hopefully have lots of red! Also on July 8th, Caffeine and Octane will be in Medina with Porsches in the spotlight, which makes for either a tough decision or a busy morning!

If muscle cars are more your thing the Street Machine Nationals will take over the Minnesota State Fairgrounds July 21-23 and always offers a wide variety of vehicles.

Thinking of Buying a New Car?

Apparently, you're not alone and that's potentially a very good thing. According to Cox Automotive figures Americans will buy 15 million new vehicles in 2023—800,000 more than it forecasted in January and that may prevent a recession.

According to Auto Week

  • After nearing an average price of $50,000 level late last year, the average price of a new vehicle has tamed so far in 2023, to $48,528 in May.
  • Electric-vehicle sales are expected to surpass 1 million in the US this year for the first time.
