Join the Greater Cape Ann Chamber's Health & Wellness Committee for the 2nd Annual WellFest: A Greater Cape Ann Community Wellness Fair. This year, we are moving to Harvey Park in Rockport! The event will showcase the Cape Ann region's broad range of health and wellness services. This event will provide something for people of all ages!

Melissa started taking pictures in high school and her photographs showcase the nautical beauty of Cape Ann. For her, it's all about a feeling, a reaction to the image. The texture of a picture is an important part of her work and she likes to ‘feel’ a picture. She specializes in nautical, landscape and architectural images. 

Tabletop Gaming Night at Hammond Castle

Join Hammond Castle Museum for a night of tabletop gaming in the Great Hall. They will have a wide variety of great games for players, available on a first come, first serve basis, including but not limited to: Dixit, Risk, Fluxx, Munchkin, Chess (Lord of the Rings Edition), We Didn't Playtest This At All, Apples to Apples, Settlers of Catan and The Oregon Trail Card Game. Dineh Tah Navajo Dancers Presentation and Performance

The Dineh Tah’ Navajo Dancers are visiting Cape Ann from the Navajo Nation for the 155th commemoration of the Navajo Treaty. The treaty was signed by peace commissioners Colonel Samuel F. Tappan (1831-1913) of Manchester, Shawn Price, the director of the dancers, will give a presentation in the CAM Auditorium on the history of Col. Tappan, Col. Sherman, and the Navajo Treaty of 1868. Following this presentation, the Dineh Tah’ Navajo Dancers will perform a program of traditional dances with narration at the Cape Ann Museum Green. During the performance, SmokeSygnals will return to install benches in the wetu installed as part of Native Waters; Native Lands so that visitors can sit and enjoy the structure. Learn More

Percy MacKaye’s 1922 poem, Dogtown Common, is a beloved document of Gloucester lore. It tells the story of two legendary figures, Tammy Younger and her niece Judy Rhines, shunned for practicing witchcraft. It was inspired by Charles Mann’s 1906, The Story of Dogtown or In the Heart of Cape Ann, that compiles recollections about the outsiders, berry-pickers, subsistence farms and self-proclaimed witches that inhabited Dogtown after it was abandoned in the early 1800’s. Performances of Dogtown Common are presented as part of the Gloucester 400+ celebration. Buy Tickets

Motif No. 1 Paint-out Invitational

Spring in Rockport

Calling ALL Local artists. Participate in painting the Motif as part of the Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce’s Spring in Rockport, to help celebrate the spirit of it's famed distinction as the most painted vista in...the world. 


Artists are encouraged to paint the Motif from any location at any time in the morning, and CAPA volunteers will be stationed at Barletta Park with a table and tent from 9:00 - 3:00, providing a central location for artists paintings.

Artists are invited to set-up their paintings for display and possible sale using their own easel. Sales are the responsibility of artists. Questions? Please email CAPA

Join Essex County Greenbelt Association to peek inside the beehives at Cox Reservation from the safety of a screened-in tent! The Souls of the Sea Concert & Commentary

For nearly four centuries, the history of Gloucester, Massachusetts has been the story of America’s greatest fishing port. With this collection of songs, the Souls of the Sea band commemorates the lives and legacy of the 10,000 Gloucester fishermen who died at sea while fishing. The Souls of the Sea captures the heart and soul of America’s most dangerous occupation: commercial fishing. Doors open at 4:30 and performance begins at 5:30

Elliot Bostwick Davis, author of the stunning new book, EDWARD HOPPER & CAPE ANN, will be in conversation with Oliver Barker, Director of the Cape Ann Museum. EDWARD HOPPER & CAPE ANN tells the largely ignored but significant origin story of Edward Hopper’s years in and around Gloucester, Massachusetts—a period and place that imbued Hopper’s paintings with a clarity and purpose that had eluded his earlier work. The talk will be followed by a book signing. Books will be for sale at the event. The event is free to attend. RSVPs are not required but are greatly appreciated.
