June is here and welcome to summer! We hope to see you at one of our upcoming events. We love to celebrate our wonderful Wisconsin summers with plenty of outdoor events, and ways to connect with other families and individuals in the adoption community.
We have exciting family events coming up in the next few months! A family mini golf day at Moorland Golf Center in New Berlin, and a family trip to Green Meadows Farm in Mukwonago—to name a couple. Lastly, as mentioned in our spring newsletter, we want to remind you of the upcoming name changes for post-adoption and post-guardianship related support services funded by the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families. Beginning in July, the current WISAPSP contract and Foster Care & Adoption Resource Center (FCARC) contract will be brought together under new contracts for a statewide center and several regional centers titled the Wisconsin Family Connections Centers. You will automatically be transferred from the WISAPSP email list to the email list for the Wisconsin Family Connections Centers programming. All of us at Catholic Charities would like to THANK YOU all for your ongoing support through our management of the WISAPSP contract these past four years. We would especially like to thank all those who have participated in our Advisory Boards all around the state. The input, participation, and feedback from our Advisory Board Members and from ALL WISAPSP participants is what has made our program successful (and so much fun!). Just last week, our staff team spent our last official “WISAPSP” meeting reflecting on our time together and acknowledging what we appreciate about and have learned from one another along this journey. We look forward to continued growth together as we recently received word that DCF intends to award us with all 8 Regional Wisconsin Family Connections Centers as well! In short, that means we will continue to be providing supportive groups, events, and case management to anyone impacted by adoption or out-of-home care in Wisconsin.
