Hire Houston First was developed to promote economic opportunity for Houston businesses and to support job creation. The City of Houston spends billions of dollars to maintain and improve the City’s infrastructure and provide services for the public. Galveston County is seeking a contractor for the De-snagging and Clearing of the East Gum Bayou Tributary and a smaller segment of a western tributary for a total of approximately 13,000 LF of channel. The northern portion of the east tributary is noted as having minimal vegetation beyond grass, but the southern half is heavy wooded and will require careful de-snagging efforts which includes selective hand clearing.
