Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

Members of the OLÉ Executive Board will be walking with Wexner Medical Center’s Hispanic/Latino ERG (HLERG) officers and Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA at OSUCOM) members at this year’s Latino Heritage Month Parade! We invite people from all national, racial, and ethnic backgrounds to join in the fun and festivities of this wonderful event! Register to walk with us as part of the parade procession (and receive a free t-shirt).

Apply for the Staff Leadership Cohort

The Women’s Place is accepting applications for the 2024-2025 Staff Leadership Series (SLS) cohort. SLS participants benefit from workshops, activities, conversations with senior leaders, and an Ohio State network of peers to encourage leadership and career mobility. This year-long program creates a pool of potential staff leaders from groups that have been traditionally underrepresented in key leadership roles. Staff of any gender who have worked at Ohio State for two years or more are eligible. Apply for the 2024-25 Staff Leadership Series by July 15, 2024.

Connect with Staff Caregivers

Introducing the Buckeye Caregivers Connect, a new employee resource group dedicated to supporting Ohio State staff and faculty who are working parents or caregivers. This group aims to provide resources, foster connections, and advocate for policies that help balance work and family responsibilities. Whether you're a parent, caring for an elderly relative, or managing any other caregiving role, we invite you to join us in building a supportive community within OSU. We will be in touch about upcoming opportunities to connect and get to know one another in late July/early August.

Buckeye Wellness Games are Coming

Join us for the Buckeye Wellness Games, brought to you by Buckeye Wellness and the Office of the Chief Wellness Officer! Teams of four will complete challenges based on the ten dimensions of wellness. Through teamwork and problem-solving, you will advance through stations on the South Oval while engaging in light physical activity. Captains should register their team for a start time on Thursday, July 18, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m on the South Oval. There will be prizes for top teams.

Leadership Series: Team Operating Systems

Organizational leaders who supervise other leaders are invited to join a new development series to enhance leadership skills, advance organizational success and strengthen your network of peer leaders. A combination of monthly virtual and in-person sessions between July 2024 and May 2025 will cover topics such as: leader self-awareness, leading your team, and leading and sustaining change. Connect Program: Development for People Leaders

Operational, front-line team leaders are encouraged to join a new development series to improve your leadership skills, advance relationships with the people you lead, build your communication ability and improve team engagement. This new program is ideal for operational leaders who typically engage daily with team members. With a blend of in-person and Zoom workshops between July 2024 and May 2025, as well as on-demand resources, the program centers on employee well-being, developing individuals and high-performing teams, and increasing engagement. Summer Staff Wellness Opportunities

From prenatal care to meal planning to the the secrets of longevity and using biofeedback to lower stress, the OSU Health Plan hosts educational programs, group health coaching and Buckeye Baby programs tailored to staff interests and needs.
