Welcome to our 3rd quarter newsletter, we hope that it finds you well and in good spirits as navigating this small business world is a wild ride! 

 

If you are new to the ecosystem, welcome! If you’ve been along for the ride, hi! And if youre considering joining the organization, do it, whats stopping you?!

 

Here at MBA it is our goal to unite and align businesses, organizations and cities alike to foster a community of likeminded individuals who thrive together. With our educational workshops,strategic partnerships and passion for small business advocacy, we want you to be seen and heard. 

 

I urge you to join us at our in person and virtual events to get a idea of how we run things at MBA, while we continually have our thinking caps on we also want to foster the vulnerability that comes with sharing the successes or pitfalls of your business, organization or city. We want to educate and uplift our surrounding communities with resources and opportunity that you may not be aware of.

2024 CA Diversity Awards- Multicultural Business Alliance: Diversity Steward Community-Based Organization

The Multicultural Business Alliance was awarded the California Diversity Award. We are proud to represent all small business owners across southern california regarless of their race, gender, or religion. We are proud to be stewards of leveling the playing field for all Women, Minority, LGBTQ+, and Veteran Owned Small businesses. We want to thank Cal Asian Chamber, CA Hispanic Chamber , and CA African American Chamber for this award and recognition.

The acceptance speech delivered by our President, Diana Ordaz Cherrington, at the 2024 California Diversity Awards held at the DOCO-Kimpton Sawyer Hotel in Sacramento on June 27, 2024. Empire Strykes Back Business Mixer a Resounding Success!

The Empire Strykesss Back Mixer, hosted at the Punch Bowl Social in Rancho Cucam, proved to be an incredible success. The event marked the beginning of a promising partnership between the Empire Strykers and the MBA, aimed at supporting small businesses in the area.


The mixer featured extensive networking opportunities, informative workshops, and much more. As the new season approaches, we are excited to announce the launch of a mini-series of workshops focused on teaching small business owners how to effectively operate a booth at the Toyota Arena. This initiative offers an incredible opportunity for small businesses to increase their brand awareness and scale their operations.

The Launch of West Covina Chamber By the Multicultural Business Alliance

The Multicultural Business Alliance (MBA), in collaboration with the City of West Covina, proudly announces the official launch of the West Covina Chamber. This momentous occasion marks a significant milestone in fostering a robust and inclusive business community.


We extend our heartfelt gratitude to City Manager Paulina Morales, the first female Latina to hold this position, for her unwavering support. Our appreciation also goes to Alejandro Garcia and Karen Ko from the Community and Economic Development Department for their invaluable contributions and dedication to the Chamber.

BizFed Sacto Days 2024 ended successfully, with small business advocates meeting legislators and policy leaders to promote solutions that support small business growth. The event highlighted the collaboration between the business community and policymakers in driving change.


The collective group of attendees played a crucial role, addressing issues such as inflation, retail theft, property damage, and minimum wage.


The emphasizes on the need for policies that stabilize prices, protect business assets, and balance fair wages with financial viability. Their proactive efforts are leading to significant legislative changes.

This significant event was part of a broader initiative aimed at recognizing and honoring veterans for their invaluable service to the country.


Roberto C. Arnold, an esteemed Army Veteran who achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class, served with distinction from 2004 to 2020.
